Some History


·        Build in 1952, in Dallas ( Texas USA ) the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (I.A.A.T.I.) was created and set up in Oklahoma City in May 1953.  

·        During the years regional Branches/Chapters were created in the USA Australia South Africa Europe and the United Kingdom .  

·        In 2001, I.A.A.T.I. comprises worldwide 3500 members.  

·        The European Branch was created on 18th November 1990 with an inaugural meeting at the Metropolitan Police Sport and Social Club, Imber Court London .  

·        The European Branch organizes yearly a seminar in an important European city to discuss the problem of car theft trends.  

·        The objectives and purpose of the European Branch shall be:  

1.      To unite for mutual benefit those public officials and private persons who are eligible for membership.

2.      To provide for the exchange of technical information and developments

3.      To cooperate with all law enforcement agencies, individuals, agencies or associations who are engaged in the prevention, detection and suppression of vehicle theft and its kindred crimes.

4.      To encourage high professional standards of conduct among members and other vehicle theft investigators and to continually strive to eliminate all factors which interfere with the administration of justice.
