Liberia - Increased Auto Theft across Monrovia

In the wake of increase vehicle theft or Auto Theft across Monrovia, the Liberia National Police have arrested two notorious criminals for Auto Theft. The Auto Theft suspects were arrested on January 21 and 24, 2012 respectively at different locations. The suspects identified as Isaac Tarr and Darious Brown, are being investigated at the LNP Headquarters in Monrovia. The suspects were previously arrested and charged to court on charges of Auto Theft but were released on bail for which they resurfaced in the community. Isaac Tarr was arrested at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium when he attempted to steal a vehicle belonging to a man identified as Jallah Kofa.

Suspect Darious Brown alias ECOWAS was arrested on the Bushrod Island after he allegedly stole a motorcycle belonging to Victor Boima. Two vehicles stolen on the main campus of the University of Liberia have been retrieved by the police. On January 6, 2012, a vehicle belonging to Ollen Dewalt was stolen but was retrieved the same day while Getrude Gassaway's vehicle stolen on Janury 10, 2012 was also retrieved on January 21, 2012, release signed by Police Spokesman George Bardue said.
